Where it all began

Pete Madsen began his career as a teacher - teaching is his vocation and that is still apparent through how he coaches, assists and mentors clients on every engagement.

After teaching in two states and two continents at iconic schools such as The Hutchins School (Tasmania), St Peters College (South Australia) and Marlborough College (Wiltshire, UK), Pete decided to pursue a career in the corporate world.

Starting as a Project Management Instructor at the Asia Pacific Education Centre with EDS, Pete quickly rose through the organisation and became the Asia Pacific Transition Manager, a role in which he developed, or restructured, application development centres for EDS across the region.

He then moved to BAE Systems Australia, where he ultimately became one of the nine senior executives in Australia, leading project management and business efficiencies in the role as Director, Program Management and Business Improvement.

Pete then put this significant corporate (and educational) experience to good use for his clients when he was appointed Director, Advisory at PwC.  This, together with being appointed as the General Manager, Corporate Services of a national civil construction business and a Partner at Bentleys SA, have prepared him excellently for his role at GIRO Advisory.

One of his clients recently remarked that he is still a teacher, except now he has a different  toolkit of experience and capability.
